For over 18 years, TAIBU Community Health Centre has led innovative approaches to Black health and wellbeing across the Greater Toronto Area. Guided by a strategic priority to influence the Black health and social services ecosystem, TAIBU established the Learning Institute to share its tested models, community engagement practices, research, and capacity-building resources.
The Model of Black Health & Wellbeing
Our model of Black health and wellbeing has three primary goals: Prevention, Restoration and Advancement. It is also based on three foundational principles: Addressing Anti-Black Racism, Embedding Africentric Values & Principles and framing program and services not just as activities but means to bring about systems Transformation.
